Oh dear, October! What a month you have been!!! If you haven’t read the update yet, please have a read.

I just re read last months Me and Mine, and I was saying that things were getting a little better, well that didn’t last long. The pain then started to come back with a vengeance and I ended up having emergency back surgery on Friday 13th October (great date hey!!) It was pretty stressful, as I went for an urgent MRI scan at 2pm and it was all go after that, and ended up in surgery by 5pm. I will write about it properly another time, as it is very important that people learn the signs, because if I had listened to the GP that morning I could have ended up being incontinent, and for how long who knows.  Thank goodness for the quick response once I got to the hospital.

So October hasn’t been a good month in terms of health, and our Me and Mine photo! I spent the first week in my PJ’s as it was comfy on my wound, and I wasn’t going anywhere. So if it wasn’t for my Sister I don’t think I would have got a photo of the month.

So this months Me and Mine photo was taken by my Sister on the day I came home from hospital. I was so glad to get home, but so sore too. I reacted to the Morphine, so wasn’t eating anything and felt terrible. All I wanted when I got home was an ice lolly!!!

Everyone was shattered, emotionally and physically. We had lots of tears from the kids when they saw me in hospital, and couldn’t wait to get me home.

I am now 2.5 weeks post surgery and I am able to get out and about more now. Just small walks, but out. So next months Me and Mine WILL be back to normal, and outside!
