At the weekend we popped out somewhere local for a walk together, we all needed some fresh air. So we headed to Holly Hill Woodland Park.
Holly Hill is a beautiful woodland park with nature, wildlife, and plenty of paths to follow around. We wanted to explore a little further out than the normal route around the lakes, and spotted a nice circular walk around.
However we must have missed a turning!! As we ended up going through into the Wendlehome Nature Reserve, and heading to Hamble shore! However it was a nice walk, and one I would happily do again.
Holly Hill has plenty of places to explore, and the kids love it because there are lots of streams to splash in, trees to climb on and lots of place to hide!
I love the boardwalks that run through the woods, as we didn’t have a clue where we were going to it was a mystery! The kids weren’t bothered we didn’t know where we were going, just making the most of new places to explore!
Once we got to the end of the path, we had reached Hamble shore! Not quite where I expected to end up, and defiantly not a circular walk!!
So after some discussion about what way to get back to the car, we managed to find a way!! Ended back on the path we had taken, and straight back to the main lake area.
This lake is stunning, there is ducks to feed, benches to sit quietly on, with the birds flying around you.
If you live near by, then do take a trip here. Check out the map, and pick your route! You can just walk around the lakes, which is just as fun. Maybe I’ll do another post on that part of Holly Hill another time!
